Seriously: I’ve been to the exact section of Prague they try to emulate, and it’s very believable. These sequences were very enjoyable to me, mostly because of the high production values: The writing is sharp, the voice acting on point and the city itself is breathtakingly immersive. The core gameplay loop of Deus Ex is almost unchanged: There are hub areas that basically function as roleplay playgrounds: Adam walks around, he talks to people, does a bit of shopping, consults his quest log for main and side objectives. But the game can’t help itself referencing that Big Thing that happened at the end of Human Revolution, and thus the player is never allowed to forget how much more bombastic the last game was.

Taken on it's own, the plot is serviceable to good: The good guys are mostly charming and quite complex at times, the bad guys are sufficiently dastardly and they too have a few inches of depth under their belt, even if the genre conventions don't allow the player to get to know them that much. As a consequence, Mankind Divided does feel a little bit like the straight to DVD sequel to Human Revolution. But in contrast to earlier entries in the franchise, the action almost always stays confined to that one city. The story starts with a bombing which, true to franchise tradition, leads to quite an elaborate conspiracy plot whose twists and turns aren’t always completely successful. So it’s a bit of a curve ball that instead of escalating things, it actually tries to shrink the scope of the experience a bit: Where the stakes used to be global and somewhat apocalyptic, Mankind Divided chooses to settle protagonist and most cyber cyborg of all Adam Jensen down in cyberpunkified Prague, complete with a somewhat regular job as a detective at Interpol. So it’s a bit of a curve ball that instead of escalating things, it actually Deus Ex Mankind Divided had to satisfy a lot of expectations. :( - Hacking minigame is central to progress in any playthrough although codes are scattered and plentiful … Expandĭeus Ex Mankind Divided had to satisfy a lot of expectations.

#DEUS EX MANKIND DIVIDED WIKI QUEST SERIES#
The dialog is pretty good as well, except maybe for Adam because he can be such a edgelord Cons - I don't think there will be anymore from this series unfortunately. You actually feel like a detective in this game uncovering conspiracies as the game progresses, there are some really good revelations down in this game and moral dilemmas that give weight to decisions. some completionists will argue that but it is a roll playing game, sometimes trade offs has to be made. A bit of a controversial move but i like that choices are locked and alter's the game play. There is too much todo but at the same time when you really slow it down you can appreciate everything the setting has to offer, NPC chatters, bar's sell beer, redlight district blaring music in the club, personal touches that are going on that might be missed if you just stop and appreciate -Combat is not over the top hard and you mostly learn to resource manage and don't take on a big group at once, you also get to plan your encounter like in hitman games, sometimes i feel like Adam is only lacking the disguise feature for it to actually become a hitman game. The vents that you crawl in are vastly different as well, from the clean and heavily monitored bank vents to the noxious gas filled sewers and messy dump crawl spaces in the slums. Golem city gives a total future slum feel and cyberpunk industrial areas are so rich in atmosphere. The Future city of Prague feels really lively and well crafted, interiors and exteriors are given a-lot of detail and it is extremely polished. Pros: -Actual openness, there are so many ways to complete missions it's ridiculous, whether it is a lethal approach or ghosting your way through missions there are well placed vents, traps and ways to leverage. Actual openness, there are so many ways Played this game recently and in my opinion it is a better Deus-Ex than Human revolution.
